Victoria Andrews has been appointed as the general manager of the Holiday Inn Express Grimsby, which is due to open in the Summer of 2015.

Prior to joining the hotel, Victoria, who has worked in the hospitality industry for over 15 years, was general manager at the Chilton House Estate in Buckinghamshire, and prior to this spent 7 years in Lincoln at The Lincoln Hotel. Originally from Liverpool, Victoria joined the Royal Navy in 1995 and started her career in hospitality in 2002 as a trainee manager for Noble House Hotels in the Americas.

She said: “I am very excited to be moving back to Lincolnshire and becoming a part of such a significant project. We are already working with the key tourism contacts in the region and building anticipation for our opening in July.

Lincolnshire has changed a lot in the last 10 years so I am really looking forward to exploring Grimsby and finding out what the city has to offer as well, as being a part of the new hotel which will become a fabulous asset for the area.

Becoming part of the Holiday Inn team is a wonderful opportunity for me.  The quality of the service, facilities and the team are second to none and I’m thrilled that I can use all my experience at such an exciting time to deliver a quality branded hotel to Grimsby.”

Victoria will now oversee the opening of the hotel including all recruitment. Engaging with the local community is a key focus for Victoria and the hotel, and the will play an active part in promoting Grimsby as a tourist and business destination. 

Owner and managing director of Leaf Hospitality, Richard Farrar said, “Victoria’s appointment is a key milestone in the opening journey. Her energy, enthusiasm and regional experience is another great asset to have on board. I’ve no doubt Victoria will do a great job and develop a fantastic local team. “

Due to open in Summer 2015, the hotel will employ up to 30 people from the local area. Located on Wellogate, adjacent to Grimsby Train Station, the building project saw the redevelopment of the previous car park site. Brayford Hotels Ltd, which owns and runs the site, brought the globally recognised IHG brand to Grimsby with 80 bedrooms, meeting room and Great Hall.
